Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a hands on approach to health care, which recognises the important link between the structure of the body and the way it functions.

Osteopaths use a range of approaches to enhance function, including soft tissue massage, mobilisation, stretching, massage and manipulation for ligaments and joints as well as exercise therapy or prescription and lifestyle advice patient education.

Pilates

Pilates is a great way to improve flexibility, posture and build strength. It is beneficial for general health and fitness, and can be a rehabilitation tool for improving injuries. Specific floor based exercises and spring resisted equipment will be used to train the body’s deep postural and ‘core’ muscles.

Pilates is suitable for people of all ages and abilities (include pre/post natal and elderly), as it is a great way to improve balance, control, core strength and flexibility.

Yoga

Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. The main components of yoga are postures and breathing.

yoga is a safe and effective way to increase physical activity, especially strength, flexibility and balance.

It is also a great portal for practicing mindfulness in our modern busy lifestyles.

Womens health Osteopathy

Melissa is passionate about empowering women to be informed and educated about the changes to their body at all stages in life. In particular supporting mums through the ante/post natal period, and how to safely and effectively return back to pre pregnancy activity and wellbeing.

Paediatric Osteopathy

Melissais trained in treating all children from birth to adolescence. She sees children presenting with many common musculoskeltal conditions.

Melissa can trained to conduct full examinations of babies musculoskeletal systems as well as looking for signs of other problems that may cause babies to be unsettled. She will take into account age, family and babies medical history, pregnancy and birth history while exploring numerous avenues in your baby’s feeding, sleeping and playing routines.

Because babies are not able to communicate in the same way as adults the precise and thorough paediatric physical examination allows us to thoroughly assess and according to our findings offer advice on routines, treatment or referral pathways (back to your GP or paediatrician for medication or screening).
